30 Weeks and counting....

Well, I will be 30 next Monday.  I also have an ultrasound that day so I'll post pictures then.  Basic Doctor Update:

-I am measuring 37 weeks
-My Blood pressure was 90 something over 60 something (This is the second appt. it has been around these #s, so blood pressure is obviously not an issue for me!)
-I have to go every week now, and then the first of December twice a week (for monitoring)
-My doctor made a guess that my ultrasound will show two good sized babies, no issues, etc...
-He also said that he will stop worrying about me after 32 weeks instead of 34 (not that I want to have them at that time, but he is seeing no issues at all that should develop)
-Another doctor had a patient with twins who went to 40 weeks (OK, I braced myself when he said this, until...)
-But my doc said that's too crazy for him and two 6 pound babies are just as good as two 8 pounders--Yay!  I thought he was going to say that is a good idea.  He thinks that a little too torturous.
-Because of all these things, we are not looking at C-section at this point.  Something would have to get out of control for that, so this makes me feel better
-Basically now, it is just a countdown and waiting game.  I have been having contractions here and there, but can stop them.  I am trying not to think about the end too much except that it is near.
-My guess is around the second week of December, I will be in serious hibernation.  I can only imagine the pain and waiting, waiting, for anytime.  I will probably continue to post and keep everyone updated.

On another note, I had a great baby shower last night.  I really was showered with all sorts of wonderful gifts, etc.... And there were like 7 kinds of cheesecake (wow!)  A big thanks to Jen, Tana, Kelly and Kristen for putting it all together!

The Most Beautiful Thing About Chuck E . Cheese

So ignore that you can see my thumb around her neck.  I was trying to help get her face in the camera at the right angle (don't want to waste that token!).  One of the machines at Chuck E. Cheese takes a picture and then turns it into a drawing.  I think it turned out so cute, I saved it. Emma went to her first school friend birthday party last Saturday.  I decided to take her instead of Ben.  I thought it would be easier on me than staying home with the other two. Yah, that wasn't correct.  Emma was a little nervous and wanted me to walk around with her and help her do the games.  It was so insane there I think she was a little overwhelmed.  I think there were about 4 birthday parties going on at once.  Lots of the parents stayed, and some did not.  One actually tried to get me to watch her little girl so she could leave!  Thank goodness she was only hinting and waiting for the offer.  I mean, come on!  Yes, let me watch your crazy little girl and my nervous one while I am very pregnant with twins.  Please, can I?!  I would have flat out told her no (nicely of course).  But I think she got the hint when I didn't take the bait.  Emma had fun, eating pizza and cake.  I sat and chatted with some of the parents which can always be an interesting experience.  I am somewhat of an oddity, as I am only 29 and about to have 5 children.  There are only two other families that I know of with the same amount at the kid's school. One is another LDS family, the other the family of a crazy doula who has this weird raspy voice and I think breast fed her children until Kindergarten or something.  I am younger than both of these moms.  And you can now see another good reason to have my blog private so I don't accidentally offend any of these people.  What was nice is that one mom said how exciting it was that we had such a big family.  She only has one, but they wanted a lot more.  They bought a six (yes SIX!) bedroom house intending to fill it with children.  Well, only one has come and now he is 7.  She sounded a little sad that she couldn't have a bigger family.  So, with all my horrible aches and pains, I should be grateful that I can have children very easily.  I do have to admit that being grateful is not the first thing on my list right now, as I am preoccupied with my body not functioning well right now.  I would like to say that I will try to enjoy this time as so many do not get to experience pregnancy.  But I won't, sorry.  I'm tired, hurting and am counting down the days.  :)

Sunny Days, Sweeping the Clouds Away...

I think that is how it goes?  As much as it is on in my house, I don't know if I really know the words.  But let me say that this show is now Nathan's favorite.  By favorite, I mean ONLY show he will watch.  He actually will sit and watch almost the entire thing on the couch even if Bailey and Emma are not watching it.  Yesterday, I was upstairs getting ready and he brought up the Tivo remote when it was done and asked to watch it again.  Not that I am wanting him to be a couch potato, but it is nice when there is something besides me that will hold his attention, if even for a little bit.  I might even donate to PBS and become one of those "Viewers Like You!" just to show my appreciation for keeping my almost two year old occupied so I can shower in peace.

When your heart jumps out of your chest....

So I won't post any quotes here from certain groups making threats against LDS people.  But let's just say that after hearing about some things online, Ben and I couldn't help but take a look.  There was everything from threats to burning down our buildings to hunting down those who contributed to the Yes on 8 Campaign.  Now, I know people say a lot of things they wouldn't really do.  But, it's Saturday evening, everything is quiet and dark and you start to wonder if people really will start to attempt some insane things.  There was a website created to have people identify LDS contributors.  One blogger "threatens" to go after these people.  So after having a good laugh at most of these threats, Ben went back into his computer cave.  The house is quiet, children in bed, it's around 8 p.m. or so--Dark, you get the picture.  We then hear the doorbell being rung LOUDLY!  You know, one of those rings where someone has pushed it a few times or so.  My heart really did about stop.  I am picturing Ben going down stairs to be confronted by an angry mob at the door.  They drag him outside and beat him up or something and then prepare to torch our house.  Now this all runs through my head very quickly.  I freeze, listen at the top of the stairs, quickly wondering where in the heck our gun is in case I have to pull off a Scarlet O'Hara.

Well...obviously I am still alive and so is Ben, no fires or anything.  Instead it was a very generous person leaving something unexpected on our doorstep.  I'm glad they do not know I thought they were an angry mob.  Well, maybe they do now if it is anyone reading this??  Ben tried to run out to see who it was but no luck.  Doorbell ditching at it's finest.  And maybe I should control my overactive brain!

Homework Helper to the Rescue

After watching Spy Kids last night, Bailey was filled with great ideas.  He came down this morning with this picture for Ben.  This is a creation that does your homework for you.  It can do three things at once, hence the three sets of arms.  Bailey was very proud that he made a plan for something that could do Dad's homework so he didn't have to.  Unfortunately, we do not have this kind of technology yet, but maybe someday...

Where we tried to sleep last night and a few other things...

OK, so the pics are from the attempt last night of me sleeping on the couch and Ben sleeping on the cushions covered in blankets on the floor. Yes, I do have a very sweet husband who came up with this idea and was willing to sleep in our living room until December! The couch is softer than the bed, and takes pressure off of my hips so I don't have agonizing pain all night. However, the couch needs to be a bit WIDER (as I am) so that I do not feel like I am sleeping in a coffin. The blankets kept falling and some part of me would half hang off as I moved at night. Good news, NO HIP PAIN! Bad news, by 1:30 a.m., I woke up my wonderful husband and had him come back upstairs with me to go to bed. The claustrophobia beat out the hip pain. Well, it was worth a shot. As Ben left this morning, he said that there has to be someplace in this house I can get a good nights rest:) I think the only thing close will be me at Sutter Roseville on pain meds after giving birth. As much as I am always still uncomfortable after having a baby, there is nothing like the sleep of relief once they are on the outside!

On another note, I am happy to say that our Christmas (and Emma birthday shopping) is officially done! Nathan and I went out this morning and finished it up. All I need is wrapping paper. Well, and for Christmas I would love for these babies to come out!

Nathan and His Be-Ba

I had to document this phase of Nathan's life. This is his "Be-Ba", or what he calls babies, or other kids for that matter. He has taken over Emma's dolls and loves to play with them. This one is probably his favorite. He is carrying it around using Emma's old Halloween princess dress as a blanket. Odd, but it works for him. He carries this thing everywhere, sleeps with it, eats with it, etc... Now, he will be sandwiched in between three sisters, so I am only assuming this will continue. He also loves trucks, balls, getting dirty and all that other stuff. But there are just some days when it is all about Be-Ba.
