Home Sweet Home

The most exciting thing about buying a house is getting to do whatever we want to it.  Luckily this house is only five years old and doesn't HAVE to be redone to live in it.  But it will be fun as we go along slowly changing things to see how different it will look.

 The front yard is full of WEEDS. Not sure if it is even salvageable, and we won't keep that much grass (or the tree!)

 No idea what their inspiration was for this, but Ben has some fun ideas for this area and the pipes that really need to be hidden.

My kitchen:) This will be a fun before/after at some point.

One of our starting off points for the house is this light fixture that will be over our dining room table.

And the backyard, well I don't really understand what the plan was there either...

Nathan's response to "What are you doing?" Found them this way in the morning coming out of the bathroom.  I think if I drank less water they would get into less stuff...


It was Fritos by the way, this "nuffing" they were getting into.

Another Wacky Day

For our Lincoln playgroup, we went to Wacky Tacky today.  At least this time I remembered the camera.  Emma's friend Jordan came with us and we stayed most of the day.

 I think Addy ate her food and everyone's leftovers.

Apparently at some point, Jordan told Emma she didn't want to be her friend anymore. Now exactly what happened between the two of them, Emma "can't remember." This leads me to believe it is not one sided.  Emma told me on the way home that they broke up, just like a teenage boy and girl do.  Seriously?! Oh man...

I named Kate!

Sunday I decided to straighten Kate's hair with a flat iron just for fun.  With her hair straight, some people couldn't tell the difference between the two girls from behind, even Emma!  When Kate got called Addy at Church, she turned around and said defiantly, "I named Kate!!!" So funny.

Bailey turns 10! Part One

We had a family get together for Bailey's birthday Sunday evening.  He secretly loves the attention even if it makes him a bit nervous:)

Twin Pics

Here are a few random pictures of Kate and Addy.  I've been trying to capture their "twiness" on camera since they do so many fun things like that.

They love to brush each others hair.  I wish the lighting was better but I thought this was too cute not to take a picture. 

In the Beans...yup, my girls play in a plastic tub full of kidney beans (dry not cooked!) for hours.

If no one else hears Katy Perry singing that line when reading it, sorry but it is one of the few newer songs today that I actually like.  Although every time I hear it I think of the 4th of July...which is one of our family's favorite holidays!  We take this day pretty seriously...well, not really, but we do love it.  We had a full day time schedule of swimming at my mom's house. Unfortunately I have no pics of that as I forgot to take some since I was swimming too!  The kids were little fish and swam until their feet bled (well B and E's at least!)  Kate and Addison got in their little rings and jumped and swam for hours, only to be interrupted by their mid day nap which they happily took with a promise of more swimming when they woke up.












Then we headed back our direction to see the Lincoln Fireworks.  Apparently, these are a HUGE deal here. 
We grabbed some pizza to picnic for dinner while we waited for a few hours for them to start.

Emma was in a bit of a funk as I think she was extremely worn out and hungry because she barely ate her lunch and then doesn't like pizza so didn't want to eat dinner...

 My friend Roseanne and her kids met us there (they also went to my moms with us that day) and her son Hunter and Nathan were busy sword fighting and running around having a great old time.

The show was really good and we had a great time sitting and watching the fireworks from McBean Park.  We didn't get home until pretty late so I think even now 2 days later the kids are still recovering.  This marks the halfway point of the year, which is crazy that it is all going so fast.  We have almost been in Lincoln a full year!  Next up: Bailey's Birthday...
