Mr./Miss Independent

Ben and I have realized that Bailey might need a small push in the go out and explore area of life. He's so good to be happy just being at home, or out in the front yard. I suppose maybe, just a little, it might have something to do with me wanting to protect him or something:) And I just might be in denial about the fact he will be entering 7th grade this next year.

*Although, I will be arming him with a cell phone, a back pack and maybe a large crow bar as he ventures out and about around Lincoln over the next little while. *

To start preparing him for this (and maybe I am the only crazy parent who does this?!) we had an outing today after they all got home from school. Since it was a half day and I was still on the couch with the twins in my yoga pants and hoodie thought we should have some fun, Independence Training commenced. We all drove in the car to the ATM. Bailey was responsible for pulling 20 dollars out of it on his own with my pin (now he is probably the only child I can ever trust with my pin number), then he went in and ordered our five dollar Little Casar's pizza and breadsticks.

Next up was Walmart. Since the Lincoln Walmart is super small, I could at least not freak out too much while in the car. Bailey and Emma went in together and were told they could use the cash to pick out a treat for all of us to share after lunch (and of course grab me a soda!) They also had to get the movie from Redbox with my card.

Unfortunately the treat they picked only had six in the box, so to make Ben feel a little better about missing out on our fun adventure we took pictures! I am sure this makes up for not getting an m and m ice cream sandwich.
