Skinny Shorts

This morning, I was tired and hurrying.  Those do not go together when you are trying to find clothes for your 8 year old to wear to school.  I handed Bailey a pair of pants and he came out all excited.  "Mom, skinny shorts, skinny shorts!"
Wha-ah?
Apparently I had given him a pair of Nathan's Church pants.  They were elastic waist so he was able to get them on.  Here he is modeling them...

So they look more like Skinny Capris.

And yes, I found another pair for him to change in to.  Ben said Bailey was so excited to finally be wearing clothes that fit him.  Well, a 3T doesn't technically fit.  However, I do tend to buy clothes on the big side.  But when your kids can wear the same clothes for three years running, that's savings!
Maybe now they can wear them a lot longer.  Bailey was wearing a 3T at 2, so 6 years must be a record!

Slip N Slide

So every post I make just means that much more money this Blog book will cost:)  But oh well, the kids had fun and what is fun without a camera...

They love to slide on the hardwood floors in their socks for some reason.  I think it hurts, as I have tried it and cannot make myself slide without getting hurt.  Here are the pics documenting their "awesome moves." (They kept begging me to take more and more pictures, so this is the condensed version)

 Emma slides in style

Bailey likes to do his rock star slide

Nathan couldn't quite do it.  But he did like to make the run.

Emma is like those girls on top model who have to do something in motion still making a pretty face.  Tyra would say this is fierce...

Action shots:)

Group Shot
(Yes, Nathan is giving a double thumbs up)

The girls almost had a run in with Bailey and Emma's feet quite a few times, but managed to stay out of the way.  They were like a fun obstacle, our very own version of Wipeout!

9 months Old!

We had the twins 9 month check up today (4 days early!)  Here are the stats:

Kate 17 pounds, 14 ounces. 26 3/4 inches long
Addison 17 pounds, 10 ounces 27 1/2 inches long

So yes, we have a short squat and a tall lean.

Head circumference I don't remember, but it was big, since they both were way above average on the chart--something to grow into, I guess.  I do remember that Addison's head was slightly bigger than Kate's, which doesn't surprise me since she reminds me of Bailey.  He grew into his head!

They did NOT like the shots today.  Who does, but today was the worst ever for them.  Only 3 each, and a finger poke as well, but they were not easily comforted.  They both passed out in the car and I was able to transfer them (for the first time ever) to their cribs.  Usually they wake up, but I think they were so worn out from the dr., they said sleep please!

I did the appt. without the stroller.  I just wasn't in the mood to take it out of the car.  Nathan did great without me having to wrangle him, which I couldn't have anyway with a baby in each arm.  I thought I got a lot of stares with them on the stroller...but try walking in with both in your arms, hauling them half slung up over one shoulder while you grab the diaper bag and really watch people look at you.

Thanks, Nathan

This morning I asked Nathan to give the girls a few more cheerios for me since he was having some straight out of the box.  Within minutes, this was the result...

And this doesn't even show the amount on the floor!  Yikes...

What mom?

Kate digs the large selection of Cheerios.

Nathan was more generous with Kate than Addison in dishing out Cheerios.  As you can see her chair is not covered in them...
This probably isn't as bad as Nathan dumping the entire box of cream of wheat on the couch last Saturday morning.  Although, with that I hid under the covers while Ben cleaned it up.  I think I should stop taking pictures of him when he does crazy stuff.  I think he believes it is his job to appear regularly on the blog.

NICU Reunion

I forgot my camera, and it was a bit uneventful as far as actually "reuniting."  However, the kids had fun.  Sutter Memorial had Renaissance people out with swords and a treasure chest and a weird singing lady who thought she was better than she was and should not be singing  the "What a Wonderful World" song.  There was face painting (which they did on the kids arms?!) and free food, make your own hat and a photo booth.  Emma begged me to get our picture taken, and I figured I might as well bring Kate and Addison in with us to document the event.  Ben was interviewed by Channel 3, but we don't know if he actually made the cut.  There were lots of sets of twins there, but none as cute as Kate and Addison, because we still were gawked at :)  I really wish we had seen some of the nurses we really liked, but it was still a nice free afternoon family trip.

Life with Nathan

This is how I found him the other night after we sent him to bed.  Bailey used to do the same thing, in the same jammies.  Nathan is still so good about staying in his room when you put him there.  That was one thing Bailey did NOT do!  Nathan will play and play until he just falls asleep.

Um, didn't even notice his foot was cut and bleeding until shower time at night.  It wasn't a new cut when I found it either.  I don't know which is funnier-that I didn't notice or that Nathan didn't care.

He loves being a big brother.  Although in this picture, neither one seems to trust the other:)

Now they got it...

Name that Twin

My kids thought this was fun the other day.  I took pictures of different parts of Kate and Addison and had them guess who was who... It is funny because you can really see how they are different.

So if you would like to participate and see how good you are or aren't, don't leave a comment but email me the number and corresponding twin....  Can you beat my five year old?:) I am thinking that there might be a prize for the winner...even if it is just a plate of cookies.  And since I am really wasting my time creating this anyway, I might open it up to my facebook friends as well just to get some extra competition...
