Anansi the Spider...It's so Hot!

Emma's class play was the day before we left for our trip. Thank goodness I don't have to listen to the songs in the car anymore! Those little boogers get stuck in your head so easily. Nathan and the twins even had all the words memorized. Emma was the storyteller, one of two narrators for the entire play. We are so proud of her and how she memorized all her lines and did an amazing job!

But it is the end of the world...

Bailey got sent home a behavior report (commence gasping for air and jaw dropping).  I wish I had a picture of that sad little face as he got into the car yesterday.  This incident had happened before lunch, but he was still very upset at the end of the day. According to Bailey, it really wasn't fair because silent period was only supposed to be 30 minutes and they were having it ALL day (insert exaggeration here).  He needed to ask Prasad a question about a project they were working on and he whispered.  So, of course mom, he said that report is incorrect.  They should have written "whispering during silent period" (said through fighting tears).  Well, neither is allowed, so we used this opportunity to condition his brain to understand that there are alternatives to doing things in order to not break the rules.  This is only the 2nd time ever Bailey has ever broken a rule at school in five years, so the punishment ended with signing the form and sending it back in:)

The problem with hand me downs from your older sister is that there is only one of everything.  So when the hot pink cowboy boots surfaced, we had a problem... Thankfully Pops is the supplier of all boots cowgirl and we made a theme Sunday at Church.  Emma decided she had to join in too.

 One of the last times we have gotten this face on film.  She is super happy go lucky girl lately and we rarely see classic "Addy Eyore face"  Her development has made leaps and bounds over the past few months. 

Pinewood Derby 2011

Bailey is pretty easy to please with making Pinewood Derby cars: 1. He wants something cool, 2. He wants to be able to contribute to making it, 3. He wants to do better than the previous year.

This year he did all of those things and was so happy with his cars (he made two!)  He picked an Indian Jones theme. He won 3 out of 4 of his races.  Although this didn't push him to the next round past that, he was just happy to have beat three boys.  The leaders did a great job of not emphasizing TOO much who got 1st, 2nd and 3rd so all the boys had a great time.

Paper Towels

Here are my children enjoying their new bench seating on our new table.  (We are so excited to have somewhere to ALL sit together!)

All children have oddities and mine are no different.  They MUST have paper towels to eat.  If it is not for their food, then it is to constantly wipe their face or hands.  Here they are eating pumpkin shaped pumpkin scones with the brand new package of paper towels purchased last night.  These are also not stinky.  Apparently a certain brand that is often on sale (and is the one ending up in our house) smells like apple cider vinegar.  Why? I have no idea, but I had a lot of them because of bulk buying and they really just smell.  I am thinking about writing to the company, but to take the smell up might jack up the price:)

As far as she gets...

When trying to get out of her crib.  She is too scared to drop down so she just hangs there.  The twins will be 2 1/2 soon and still sleep in cribs!  I love it.
